On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Tim light, BOMMA presents a limited edition of only ten pieces, created in collaboration with German artist Anselm Reyle. The project brings into dialogue the hand-blown crystal form of the original light and the artist’s painterly intervention of color and light.
Tim, the very first light produced at the BOMMA glassworks ten years ago, has over the past decade become a recognizable element of contemporary Czech design. In this anniversary edition, Anselm Reyle lends the piece his distinctive artistic language. Known for his foil and striped paintings and for recontextualizing found objects, Reyle brings to glass a painterly gesture that both respects and transcends the light’s original form.
Each monumental, hand-blown light is complemented by spontaneous strokes of black spray paint and neon pink acrylic. Bold neons inside replace the conventional light source, giving the object a new, pulsating expression.
The result is an object where crystal, color, and light converge in a unique, collectible composition. This limited edition of ten pieces represents a meeting of two disciplines — glass craftsmanship and contemporary painting — and is intended for those who seek objects at the intersection of art and design.
The project was realized in cooperation with DSC Gallery.
