Fragments of Light at 3daysofdesign

10—12 June 2026, Copenhagen

Fragments of Light: BOMMA Unveils an Installation of Upcycled Crystal Fragments in Copenhagen’s Court Theatre.

We are unveiling a unique installation of the upcycled Fragments of Light during the 3daysofdesign 2026 festival. It is set within the extraordinary interiors of the newly renovated Court Theatre (Hofteatret) — a historic 18th century theatre recently reopened after five years of restoration.

The atmosphere will be brought fully to life by a live performance. Fragments of Light invites visitors into a quiet, suspended world where light drifts through layers of air, fabric and glass. What was once discarded becomes radiant— fragments gathered, fused, and transformed into a shimmering cloud. Come and experience this immersive experience for yourself.

Dates: June 10–12, 2026
Opening hours: Daily 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Location: The Theatre Museum at The Court Theatre (Hofteatret), Christiansborg Ridebane 16, Copenhagen – see on map (entrance from the Court)
Live performances: Every 30 minutes throughout the day

The installation is composed of Fragments lighting, made from upcycled crystal shards from previous production at BOMMA glassworks. Each piece is first cut from Fragmentglass panel and then meticulously refined by a master glass cutter. The hand-made shapes resemble gemstones created under pressure to reveal their inner beauty.

To pay homage to the location, we are returning to the theatrical aspect with live performances specially created for this event. The Court Theatre opened after 5 years of extensive renovations this March, offering its space for this one-of-a-kind experience

Unique location

The Court Theatre

A more than 100-year-old theatre museum in a more than 250-year-old Court Theatre in an almost 300-year-old building – that is the Theatre Museum at The Court Theatre. The Court Theatre is located in the middle of Copenhagen on the artificial island of Slotsholmen, which for centuries has been – and still is – the historical and geographical centre of power in Denmark.
