divina

The light touch of the divine, transformed into distinct colors

about

Divina is unique – artistically poetic, as well as strictly minimalistic. Its refined color gradients lend it an aura of timeless dreaminess, while remaining visually striking. Its smaller dimensions and delicate light easily provide a soft ambiance in any interior.

Get inspired by timeless concept of a spherical glass body with the delicate touch of a color gradient. Michaela Tomišková and Jakub Janďourek of the DECHEM Studio designed new minimalistic collection for BOMMA.

collection inspiration

Divina lights are the younger siblings of the Phenomena Collection, referring to the Greek word for appearance. Phenomena, designed by the DECHEM Studio for BOMMA in 2016, was inspired by Plato’s teachings about the world of ideas and playing with basic divine geometric shapes. The new Divina collection continues this philosophical direction, this time focusing on colors.

Divina is ideal for use above a desk or dining table, thanks to the light source located within the bottom of the cylindrical mounting body. Its direct light provides the perfect conditions for work, dining or studying. Unlike its older sibling, the Divina lights are smaller and more perfectly fit intimate interiors. Phenomena is a notable levitating ballit’s an art object, a centerpiece in each space,” the designers explain. Divina is comparatively smaller, especially suitable for private settings, homes and apartments.”

DECHEM Studio

DECHEM Studio was established in Prague in 2012 by Michaela Tomiskova and Jakub Jandourek. They first met at the Novy Bor School of Glass, where they both fell in love with the earliest synthesised material in human history. While Michaela went on to study product design at AAAD Prague (Academy of Arts Prague) and later worked for several acclaimed design studios, Jakub continued to hone his skills in the lighting industry, specialising in glass workmanship, technology, and manufacturing. Since establishing DECHEM Studio they have focused on product design and maintained a special attention to glass.
